Broken Wings by Kahlil Gibran – A Philosophical Love Story Book Review #BookReview

site Edition Verified download. Let me start out by saying that this book is dark and twisted and scary and should probably have some kind of trigger warning on it. Its definitely not for a younger audience. I started it and almost stopped reading Riley is pulled into a world of rich, powerful, and incredibly dangerous people.

And she is falling for a guy who treats her like crap. Most of the people treat her like crap and she doesnt truly know anyone in the story.

I could tell that the main guy had his reasons for being terrible but Riley didnt know why and yet she still fell for him so that's why I think younger girls maybe shouldnt read this, so as not to romanticize potentially bad behavior.

I did have to imagine the characters as older because a lot of the elements were really adult for a 17 year old in high school. That being said, I really loved this book and definitely recommend it to older readers. The book for me is a bit of a mess. An example: Like, really? You know the heroine that wants to be Badass? She gets told to stop drinking at a party when they have yo fly to a meeting the next Day.

What does she do? Go slam 6 shots and pukes in a car. Guess she really showed people How cool she is Black ice, a deadly wreck, and Riley Jameson's life is changed. She's now the Deboise Successor. She's now owned by the most powerful people in the world. She didn't ask for this life, she didn't want it; they didn't want her in their all-boys club either. But rules are rules. And the rules call for each family to have a successor.

The successors: Dylan, Evan, Jasper, and Beck.

Gorgeous, cruel, deadly. They want to break her. They don't understand, she's already lost everything, everyone who matters.

She's already broken. Sublime savagery. Cruelty and coldness displayed to perfection. Delta, the parents, the successors all wielding unmatched power with such brutality, setting aside their humanity for control makes for a tension-filled read. The strain starts from the first sentence and builds with each page until the scream-worthy cliffhanger.

This is a perfectly crafted book. Each scene is carefully executed, each character beautifully damaged. Riley's raw pain and naivety of her new world; Eddy's hopeless acceptance; Dante's belief that he has any ability to help Riley navigate her new life; Dylan's flashes of gentleness and pain; Jasper's unending sexcapades; Evan's blankness; and Beck's complexities depict victims all lost from the moment of their births.

The masks they wear daily are more their survival techniques than their defense and weapons training. The glimpses we get into their true souls are everything.

The moments they lose control, reveal their emotions, confusion, regret I am desperate for more. In a game of deadly chess, the successors are the pawns but I look forward to the rise of the next king and for the butterfly to take the board as queen.

This book For lack of a better word. I started this book at 9: But, then my mind kept going over what I had read and I knew I needed to read more. So, I picked the book up again.

I put it down again at 2: I did it one more time at 5am and I thought to myself Sara, you're almost done, why did you put the book down? So, I picked it up again and I finished reading it around 6am. Then I slept for a couple of hours. She's dealt with a lot and she doesn't let it keep her down. These four guys? They're grade A jerks. He invites Kahlil to his house. Selma is as gentle and kind as her father. Bishop Bulos Galib is a powerful man in the local society who controls the locales as he wishes.

For namesake, he is a Bishop but he is a very cunning and wrong doing person. He has a nephew, Mansour Bey Galib, living with him and following his footsteps. In fact, Mansour is one step ahead than his uncle. He enjoys wine, girls and all evil doings of the society.

Farris tells Kahlil to take care of Selma till he comes back. When Farris comes back, he tells Kahlil that Bishop wants Selma to be married to Mansour who everyone knows is a bad character.

Marriage happens although none of them is happy about it. Farris dies. Selma is childless for five years. And after five years she gives birth to a beautiful boy who dies as soon as he takes birth.

Selma also dies. One dies at the end of the story, other also dies but lives and delivers the meaning to World. This world is too small. But still, it takes years to find out your true love. As a matter of fact, this life is too small but this book teaches you how to make your each moment remarkable and memorable.

This book tells you how to express yourself without uttering a word and how to listen to the silence.

Trail of Broken Wings

It tells how easy it is to understand the true Love and how difficult sometimes it becomes to hold it. You can inhale it inside you.The road streamed ahead. Don't read if you're a diehard fan of this thing. Again, obviously. But the author was able to persuade even a cynic like me to believe with her amazing prose.

He invites Kahlil to his house.

I enjoyed reading his struggle, as I felt it very realistic for anyone who tries to follow the directions of the Throne Room of God.
